Jack Minot and Janey Pecq are best friends and are always seen together; so much so that Janey receives the nickname “Jill” to mimic the old nursery rhyme. One winters day they are seriously injured in a sledding accident. They are helped along in their recovery by various activities created by their mothers. Through the ordeal they and their many friends learn valuable life lessons and end up better for it.
