H. E.  Marshall’s retelling of the classic Song of Roland for children. The stories are based on the Frankish military leader Roland at the Battle of Roncevaux Pass in 778 AD, during the reign of King Charlemagne. The book is intended for readers ages 9-12 and is also a great read-aloud book for the whole family. A great introduction to the the Song of Roland for young people.

First published in 1907, this edition is derived from the original book with 8 color illustrations by L. D.  Luard.  As always, this edition is complete and unabridged.
