A collection of short stories from the Victorian era written by Margaret Gatty for children.  The stories are intended to convey morality and virtue to the reader through both God and nature which the author did not view as separate.

The stories were originally published in 4 volumes.  This edition is derived from the book published in 1865 and contains the original illustrations and page decorations including 31 full page illustrations.
