The Captivity of Mary of Scotland
Historical fiction based on the life of Mary of Scotland during the reign of her cousin Queen Elizabeth and the struggle between Catholics and Protestants in England. From the author: “In p. 58 of vol. ii. of the second edition of Miss Strickland's Life of Mary Queen of Scots, or p. 100, vol. v. of Burton's History of Scotland, will be found the report on which this tale is founded.”
First published in 1882, this edition is derived from the original book with four black and white illustrations by W. Hennessy. As always, this edition is complete and unabridged.
