Set in Athens and consisting of several plots connected by the celebration of the wedding of Duke Theseus of Athens and the Amazon queen, Hippolyta. The play is set in a woodland in the realm of Fairyland, under the light of the moon, where humans and fairies interact. The play is one of Shakespeare’s most popular and remains widely performed to this day.

First written in 1595, this edition is derived from the book published in 1864 with 15 black & white illustrations by H. C. Selous. As always, this edition is complete and un-abridged.
