Poet of Childhood
A collection of poems by Eugene Field who is well known for his whimsical, yet sometimes serious, poems for children. Born in St. Louis, Missouri and raised by a cousin after the death of his mother, at age 6, he was raised in Massachusetts. Field attended several colleges including Williams College, Knox College, and University of Missouri, but never did graduate having spent much of his time playing practical jokes.
This edition’s illustrations are derived from the book published in 1904 with 10 color illustrations by Maxfield Parrish. As always, this edition is complete and unabridged.
