The book is the ninth volume in a series of twelve “coloured” Fairy Books compiled by the Langs. Well known fairy tales such as The Mermaid and the Boy, The Cunning Hare, and The Sister of the Sun, as well as many lesser known tales, are contained within the pages.
First published in 1904, this edition is derived from the original book with 44 black and white and 8 color illustrations by H. J. Ford. As always, this edition is complete and unabridged.
