The story of Sarah Crewe who is sent to boarding school in England by her wealthy father who live in India. Sarah soon falls on hard times when her father passes away un-expectedly leaving her penniless. How will Sarah adapt to her new life as an underprivileged orphan?
First published as a book in 1905, the novel is an expanded version of the short story “Sara Crewe: Or What Happened at Miss Minchin’s” which was serialized in St. Nicholas Magazine starting in 1887. This edition is derived from the book published in 1917 with 12 color illustrations by Ethel Franklin Betts.
